Academic Coaching
- Once a student is in your room for academic coaching they should stay put until the bell. This helps to minimize traffic in the halls.
- Also, if you use remind to communicate tutoring or coaching times to your students, they can use this as their pass in the morning. Please encourage this.
- Please communicate to parents/students when your times/days change, often times students are left outside of classes in the morning b/c we have forgotten to tell them we are unavailable.
Front Foyer Info.
- In an effort to minimize the foot traffic and stop the loitering in the foyer, the stanchions will be placed each day near the staircases. Please help monitor in the halls so that students are traveling in the correct hallway and not heading up there unnecessarily between classes.
- If they are going to the nurse or attendance office, they can easily get around them on an individual basis.
- Along the same lines, if a student tells you they are waiting for their lunch to be dropped off, they need to report INTO the front office and wait there. Thank you for your assistance.

NEW! Nominate NISD grads (AND EMPLOYEES) for 2020 Pillars of Character
In 2020, the Northside Education Foundation (NEF) is celebrating its 25th anniversary. As part of the celebration and because many outstanding pillars in the community are both products of Northside and are employees, the Pillar Selection Committee could select an employee who was a NISD graduate as a Pillar of Character next school year.
Any graduate from any of Northside’s high schools is eligible to be nominated as a 2020 NISD Pillar of Character, a prestigious annual recognition. A committee of NISD and NEF representatives selects the six Pillars. The honorees are celebrated at NEF’s annual Pillar recognition gala.
The nomination form and list of past and present Pillars, along with photos and biographical information, is located at www.nisd.net/pillars. Anyone can nominate a graduate and the nomination remains active for up to five years. New information can be provided at any time. The deadline for submissions is May 1, 2020. For more information, visit nisd.net/nef/pillars.
Celebrate, engage and follow NEF's journey serving as a passport to the future in education and innovation in Northside on Twitter and Facebook
