Dear Parents and Carers,
SNAPSHOTS OF OUR STAFF LEADING PEDAGOGY
This week Karlie DeMarte has lead our school community through Science Week. Karlie's passion for all things science has been evident this week as she arranged the MMPS Science Fair 2021 where students were invited to explore the world of science by conducting their own experiment. Dave Collard presented yesterday to our students with a focus on aboriginal perspectives and science, and this morning Karlie's Year 5 students presented a wonderful assembly item about the important of bees. It was also wonderful to see so many students at school today dressed up as a bee or wearing something black and yellow to raise awareness about bees. Thank you Karlie for arranging Science Week 2021 for our school community.
SACRAMENT OF PENANCE
Thank you to all of our parents who attended our Reconciliation workshop this week. It was wonderful to see the engagement and support from our parent community for the preparation of this Sacrament.
This week our Year 3 students will be receiving the Sacrament of Penance for the first time. Please keep these students in your prayers during this important time for them all.
We were also really excited to have been able to share in the Baptism of Mason Caradonna this week. Mason was baptised in our school chapel on Thursday by Fr Suresh with the Year 3 class and Mason's family in attendance. Congratulations Mason on your baptism, and thank you for letting us share it with you and your family.
ONE BIG VOICE - TODAY IS THE DAY!!
This evening the Mary's Mount Primary School choir comprising students in Years 3 to 6 will be participating in One Big Voice. At last they get to share their songs, the culmination of many hours of hard work.
A very big thank you to Mrs Freeman, Mrs Skrzypek and Mrs Leech for preparing our students for this event with many hours of rehearsal and workshops. Good luck to all of our students performing tonight. I am just a little bit excited and can't wait to see the concert at the RAC Arena tonight.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.
