Welcome to a New School Year!!
Arrival and Dismissal Reminders
*Please make sure that you remain in the car rider drop off line until it is your turn to let your child out the passenger's side of the car. Please do not get out of your car, and please do not drive around cars in the line for our students' safety.
*If you arrive after 8:50 a.m., please park your car and sign your child in at the Main Office Security Vestibule.
*The Main Office must know before 2:45 p.m. if your child is to be a car rider in the afternoon (if your child is a DAILY Car Rider you do not need to call the office).
*Please arrive at the Main Entrance with your ID starting at 2:45 p.m., but no later than 3:10 p.m. This will help us avoid having parents waiting for children while buses are entering the bus loop.
*Thank you for continuing to practice your child's bus number with him or her daily!!!
We want to thank you all for your patiences as we iron out the arrival times of our Buckman Heights/Holmes Road buses during these first few weeks of school!! If you ever have questions regarding our arrival or dismissal procedures please feel free to reach out to us any time!
We've Got Spirit!!
Some Info from Our Special Areas Teachers...
BooksStudents will start off the year by learning how to take care of and check out books in the library. First and Second graders will most likely start checking out their library books at the end of September or early October because this information is a review for them. Kindergartners can look forward to checking out books in mid to late October.

Holmes Road is now a Community School!
What does that mean?
Community Schools organizes the resources and voices of schools and communities around student success. The community schools site coordinator helps connect families to supports and resources to aid in the success of the child, family and community.
Some of what Community Schools offers:
After School Clubs, family engagement events, Kidscare, mental-health counseling, the parent center at The ELC, connections to community based programs/resources, mentor programs, GCSD clothing closet/food pantry, Family Support Center.
How do I access these resources?
Community Schools Site CoordinatorHello! I am so excited to be joining Holmes Road Elementary as its first year of being a part of Community Schools. I have worked alongside families for many years and enjoy the collaboration. This year, we are eager to build lasting relationships and provide resources to all. I look forward to building student, family and staff relationships for the 2022-2023 school year! Parent Coordinator for Holmes Road and Buckman HeightsI have enjoyed being the parent coordinator of Holmes Road and Buckman Heights for the past 5 years! Before working for the district, I was a frequent volunteer in classrooms, and my kids’ sports activities. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Studies from SUNY Empire State.
