There were different civilizations in different times. There were the Sumerians, Akkadians, Amorites, Hittites, Kassites, Assyrians, Chaldeans (neo Babylon), Ur, and Urk. Hammurabi was a king who made laws that would help people.without his laws it would be tough to love because people wouldn't know right from wrong and would do probably more wrong. One of the laws are that if the slave doesn't say that his master is his master the master shall cut off the slaves ear. If thieves steal the will be killed and buried in the spot they stole at. If a man steals a child he shall die. If a child says to one of he or she's parents that you're not my parent the parent cuts off the child's tongue. If a someone struck there father their hands are cut off. Gilgamesh is a king of Uruk and had an epic. Enikudu a wild man made by the gods to stop Gilgamesh from oppressing the people of Uruk. Together they went to Cedar Mountain and defeated Humbaba it's guardian. As punishment for Gilgamesh's action of killing Humaba the gods sentence Enikudu to death. Gilgamesh the searches for immortality but realizes he won't find it and dies.

Mesopotamia is also known as the Fertile Crescent. The soil is very fertile in Mesopotamia obviously because it's between 2 rivers. Poisoned crops lead to the fall of Mesopotamia. The reason being crops being the main source of food. Without food you will die so people moved to where there was food. Mesopotamians mostly ate there crops which consisted of potatoes, fruits that you probably haven't heard of like quinces, and cakes on special occasions. Meat was expensive so mostly the rich ate meat. Mesopotamians lived near bodies of water because of water, fertile soil, and more than likely to swim. Probably more on the fertile soil side. To farm throughout a year you must first flood your field using the irrigation. Then you plow the fields to break up the soil. After that you must run the harrow to make it smooth and level. Then you plant the seeds with the seed plow. Obivously you water the seeds. Finally you harvest your crops and take them to the threshing house.
