Students Return Face-to-Face on Monday, February 1st

We look forward to seeing our students back in-person on Monday, February 1st.

As a reminder, if your child is ill or anyone in your family is suspected to have COVID or getting tested, please keep your child home and call our Attendance Office at (616) 863-6312.

Secondary Full Face To Face Attendance Reporting

Prior to this pandemic, teachers live streaming instruction was not part of our everyday lives. We are fortunate to live in a community that values education and has supported our growth with technology over the course of each of our last bond issues. The combination of one-to-one technology, our learning management system (Schoology), and fantastic efforts by our teachers in growing our virtual instruction practices has made education possible during these challenging times. Our remote and hybrid instructional models offered flexibility for students and families and as we transition back to face-to-face, we want to be clear on how staff will be supporting students moving forward while in full, face to face instruction. In-person student attendance is expected in our full face to face instructional model.

COVID Related Absence

Students that are unable to attend school due to COVID will be supported through live-streamed instruction via Google Meet, just as was done during hybrid instruction. COVID related absences include:

· Student is exhibiting symptoms and awaiting test results

· Student has tested positive and has to quarantine for a scheduled period of time

· Student was a close contact and has to quarantine

Absence not Related to COVID

Students that are unable to attend school for traditional short-term absences will utilize Schoology to participate in makeup work. A live streaming option will not be provided for students who are missing for non-COVID short term absences.
