Over the Counter COVID Tests
The Florida Department of Health (DOH) has updated their guidance regarding COVID-19 testing. They will allow students identified as close contacts to return sooner from quarantine if they are asymptomatic and have a negative test on Day 5 or later of quarantine.
The only three over the counter tests that may be used when a student is asymptomatic and would like to return sooner from quarantine are the following:
Rapid Antigen
1. Ellume COVID-19 Home Test (parent should show you results from their app that has the student’s name on it)
Molecular Test
2. Lucira CHECK-IT COVID-19 Test kit
3. Cue COVID-19 Test for Home and Over the Counter Use
DOH will also accept any PCR test given by a provider or sent to a commercial laboratory or if the testing site uses one of the molecular tests indicated on the attached document. Other over the counter tests, such as BinaxNOW are not approved for asymptomatic use and should only be used for when the student is symptomatic. If the student chooses not to get tested, they may return at the end of their quarantine period as long as they remain asymptomatic.
DOH will accept positive results from all tests, including any over the counter test. Please have the parent or guardian provide a copy of the positive test results.
DOH will also allow students to return back to school if they were sent home with COVID-19 like symptoms if they have a negative test from the list of tests attached to this email under the symptomatic use column. Please see the attachments for more information.

Athlete of the Week
The coaches want to congratulate Destini Gibbs, Mandarin Middle's player of the week. He played a solid defensive game against James Weldon Johnson Middle while leading the team in tackles. He was a big part of our 12-0 shutout in a hard fought game. Great job Destini. Go Hawks!
