Principal's Message
Believe it or not, the holiday season is right around the corner. Before the hectic days of December, I hope you have a chance to take a moment and appreciate the things for which you are grateful.
I have the privilege of seeing many things in our beautiful new school to be thankful for as I work with students, teachers, and parents. Whether it is seeing a helpful hand zipping up a kindergartener’s jacket, hearing the passion and excitement from our teachers when telling me of the progress they have made with a student, small class sizes, or the contributions our parents make volunteering, chaperoning, or simply reading and spending time with our children…there are many things to be thankful for here at Meadow View! To help emphasize being thankful, we kicked off a new monthly focus on Gratitude for PBIS (Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports). Part of our practice this month will include Thankful Thursdays. Each Thursday of this month, students will be encouraged to talk about what they are thankful for at the lunch table. There will be table tents at each table with questions and prompts for the students to talk off of. This will hopefully help students reflect on the things they are most thankful for.
Parent-teacher conferences wrapped up last month. We had nearly 100% participation! Thank you! I can't stress enough the importance of strong parent support and involvement. Please know conferences are just one way, however, to receive feedback from school staff on how well your child is learning. We have many checkpoints during the year for you to receive such feedback. Meadow View families will have three formal report cards pertaining to their child’s achievement during this school year.
- Classroom Report Card #1 - December 6 (available on Family Access)
- Classroom Report Card #2 - March 6 (available on Family Access)
- Classroom Report Card #3 - June 10 (available on Family Access)
In addition to the report cards and conferences, families can keep in touch about student learning via Seesaw, attending our learning celebration in spring, viewing MAPs assessment scores via Family Access, phone calls, emails, take-home folders, assignment notebooks, and classroom newsletters.
Thank you for your continued support!
