Monday Memo
Week of January 13th- 17th
Greetings, CCE!
Kudos, CCE staff/teachers, for building relationships and rapport with your students to have them want to return to school because they miss having you a daily part of their lives. What a blessing it is to work with all of the students that we serve each and every day!
Here is a little poem to celebrate you as a teacher:
T - is for Thinking and knowing each of your students and what they need to succeed
E - is for your Eyes/Ears that are used to see all the wonderful work that students do each day
A - is for Attention to the stories that students tell you and for making them feel special
C - is for the Character that you model for your students because they want to be like you
H - is for your Hands that Help, Hug, and Hold our students when they need it the most
E - is for Everything that you do in between grading papers and....grading papers
R - is for the Respect & Responsibility that you instill in our students today so that they can be the best citizens tomorrow!
Just like all the different flowers in the field in the background~ Never forget that teachers grow every other profession, thank you for all you do!

Kudos to Coach Hull & Mrs. Pollini
Kudos to Coach Hull and Mrs. Pollini this week! They were "caught" pulling and working with small groups in their specials classrooms! They demonstrated/modeled skills and asked students to practice with them (guided practice) before releasing students to practice and apply skills independently. Way to go, Specials Teachers!
Dismissal... Let's Keep Dismissal Running Smooth
Remember that FA/PK/K- begins lining up for dismissal at 2:55 PM. All other classes should be dismissing from classrooms at 3:00 PM. 5th Grade dismisses from outside a few minutes later to keep traffic flowing. Keeping groups staggered with this release helps the traffic flow in the main hallways and our little ones from getting caught in the wave of bigger kiddo traffic. Please let Greg know if you have questions or need more clarification.
Student Planners & Thursday Folders
2nd Grade will be receiving samples of the planners used by 3rd-5th grade to see if they are interested in beginning with them the following school year.
-----------------------------------------------
Thursday Folders- If you need extra folders for this semester, please come and see Gloria or Greg. They have extra folders to that you can use as your Thursday Folder. Thursday Folders should go home weekly with any graded work, etc. Per Campus Handbook~
WRITTEN COMMUNICATION TO PARENTS
The campus will send home notes, flyers, newsletters, etc. weekly every Thursday in a special folder.
Thank you!
Benevolence Fund Start Up Reminder
The Benevolence Fund will be used to purchase a variety of items for our staff's life events: those who may be celebrating weddings, passing through seasons of grief/funerals, awaiting the birth of a child, etc. The fund has been established to help with purchases of flowers, cakes, cards, etc. on behalf of all the CCE staff. Grade Level Leads who know that they have a staff member that they are planning a special event for, please begin reaching out to Billie to share your grade level plan. The benevolence fund will provide ancillary financial support for observing this type of event.
Thank you in advance for your contribution!

Thinking of Recommending Retention for a Student? - What you need to know about February Teacher Conferences
What you should know~
1. Face to face conferences should be held in the spring with parents of students who teachers are concerned about either academically or behaviorally, or anyone that is in danger of being retained by March 2nd, 2020.
3. If you are contemplating retention of a student, notify your principal before it is discussed with the parent; the proper paperwork must be completed. All students being considered for retention MUST be receiving interventions.
Please schedule a time to discuss any students who you are recommending retention with your Principal.
