2021-2022 New Student Registration
Parents of children new to the Coupeville School District please plan to register (grades K through 5) at Coupeville Elementary School on August 18th or 19th. The school office will be open from 9:00 to 12:00 and 1:00 to 4:00 each of those days. A current immunization record for all grade levels is required at the time of registration. Birth certificates are required for K and first grade. Children must be 5 by August 31st for kindergarten entrance and must be 6 by August 31st for first grade entrance. If children have special needs and/or have been receiving special services, a copy of their current individual education plan at the time of registration is most helpful. School begins Tuesday, September 7th. Questions may be directed to Courtney Simpson-Pilgrim, Student Services Secretary, at (360) 678-2474 or csimpson-pilgrim@coupeville.k12.wa.us.
A Counselor's Farewell
Hello CES Parents/Guardians,
It has been my pleasure working with your students at Coupeville Elementary School for the last 10 years. CES is an amazing place to work and I feel so very lucky to have been chosen as the school counselor. Despite not having any experience working with the younger ones, Mr. Ebersole took a chance on me and I am really glad he did! Although I am retiring, I will be back volunteering at the school and making myself useful. However, there will be some travel, hiking and mountain biking also. Have a great summer!

Coupeville School Farm Family Days!
This summer, Farmer Kylie will be hosting farm family days on the majority of Tuesdays and Thursdays. All ages are welcome, all skill levels are welcome, and anyone who is looking to get outdoors with their family and friends are welcome. They will be planting, weeding, and doing everything else that is needed to grow food for the Connected Food Program. High school aged students are welcome to come without parents, but younger students will need an adult to come along.
Want to join them? Use this sign up link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c44a5ad2ea3fccf8-family
Need to know how to get to the farm? You can enter the school farm through the hedge on Ebey Rd. See the map below.

More Summer Fun Ideas
Take a Hike - Head outdoors on a local hike. A scenic stroll is just the way kids can get their energy out and explore good ol’ Mother Nature. It’s the perfect opportunity for teaching them about plants and flowers, too. How lucky are we to live in an area with so many beautiful hiking locations to choose from?
Feed the Ducks - Pack up the kids, head to a pond, and feed the ducks! In general, ducks may safely eat the following foods:
- Corn (canned, frozen, or fresh)
- Duck pellets (sold online and at pet stores)
- Lettuce (torn into small pieces)
- Frozen peas (defrosted)
- Oats (rolled or instant)
- Seeds (including birdseed or other varieties)
Enjoy watching these beautiful animals while spending quality time with your children. You can even make a half-day trip of it by packing a lunch and visiting a playground.
Play Car Wash - A car wash is probably one of the few chores that can be turned into playtime. Get out the buckets, rags, and bubbles, and let them have fun with it. Reward them for their hard work with a few bucks or a trip to our fantastic local library! Don’t forget about the summer reading program at Sno-Isle Libraries!
Plan a Treasure Hunt - Pull out the pirate hats and send them on a treasure hunt. Make a treasure map by staining the paper with coffee and burning the edges. Then, have a prize hidden at the end of the journey. Watching their excitement will be just as fun for you as it is for them!
Camp in Your Backyard - No Summer is complete without a night of backyard camping. Pitch a tent and tell campfire stories together.
Whatever you choose to do, we hope your family has a safe and enjoyable summer break!
