United 345 NEWS!!!
Field Trip to Walmart tomorrow morning during Sunday School- The United 345 group is super excited to add a little personal touch to portable 2. Last Sunday, it was asked if they could go to Walmart during Sunday School to scout for and possibly purchase some items for their room. We had an awesome donation that will help fund this field trip and we have drivers. Attached is a permission slip for the year and I will have paper copies available tomorrow too. Kids need to be here by 9:45 as the group will leave at 9:50a.m. for Walmart (you can also meet them at Walmart if that works better). They will shop as a group with their Sunday School teachers and then return by 10:50a.m.
*We will also have Sunday School in room 108-109 for kids not attending the Walmart fieldtrip. The Walmart excursion is for 3rd-5th graders only, all other ages will have Sunday School in their class as usual.
3rd Grade Bibles- We are thrilled to present our third graders with bibles tomorrow during the 11 a.m. worship service! After the Lord's Prayer, I will explain the bibles and call the Bible Sponsors forward (they will be presenting the Bibles to students). I will then call each child by name to come forward. Families of the student will be asked to stand at their spot until all 3rd graders have been presented and then there will be a response on the screens for the families to say.
Urban Air United 345 4p.m.-7p.m. tomorrow night Jumping! Tomorrow's afternoon programing for United 345 will begin at 4p.m. at VRUMC. We will start with some activities from Learning to Study the Bible and then travel to Urban Air at 4:50p.m. for jumping and fun! Suggested donation $10. If you can help with driving, please let me know!
Bridgeport- Next week some of our 345ers will be at Bridgeport Bible Camp! Please see the welcome letter here http://www.bridgeportcamp.org/pdfs/camp-bible-2018-welcome-letter.pdf that includes packing suggestions and more information.

Sail the 7 Cs
Sunday, September 9, 16, 23 ● 4-5 p.m. ● Portable 4
Facilitated by Brian Hardesty-Crouch
This small group will experience an overview of the Bible through the 7 Cs—Creation, Covenant, Crisis, Christ, Church, Calling, and Coming.
· Creation — God created the world and called it good.
· Covenant — God makes a covenant with Abraham and with God’s people that through them creation will be redeemed.
· Crisis — There are both freedom and trouble in the world, and our choices can lead to good or not so good.
· Christ — Jesus Christ extends God’s covenant of grace and love through this life, death, and resurrection.
· Church — Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the church lives out the good news of Jesus’ resurrection, making disciples of Jesus for the transformation of the world.
· Calling — What does God invite you (and us) to do and be?
· Coming — The big finish and coming of God’s kingdom is promised, is coming, and is in motion.

Sunday Learning Hour with Vista Kids!
We had an awesome Sunday School kick off last Sunday and can’t wait to see everyone again this Sunday! We are so grateful for our outstanding Sunday School teachers who were ready to jump in and start another great year! They are such a blessing!!!!
Last Sunday our Vista Kids began a new unit of study centered around “home”. We learned about Jesus as a boy and when he was “lost” in the temple. We are never lost in Jesus! A savior who came to experience, live and die for us!
Matthew 3:17
A voice from heaven said, “This is my Son whom I dearly love; I find happiness in him.”
Children's Church Recap!
Last Sunday in Children’s Church, our Vista Kids read in Genesis 1:26-27 that we were created in God’s image! To remind us that God creates amazing works with us, we used something a simple and blank as paper to soar paper airplanes across the room.
Genesis 1:27
God created humanity in God’s own image, in the divine image God created them,[a] male and female God created them.
We Kicked Off 4-6p.m. Last Sunday!
VBC Recap and Look Ahead!
Thank you to everyone who attended our VBC Recap meeting on Sunday at Aldfredo's! The conversations were outstanding as we heard of just a few of the many amazing ways that children connected with God, others, and the community! It was so wonderful hearing everyone share all the stories and unique components that make up the DNA of VBC at VRUMC!
As we begin planning for next year, please being to pray for VBC 2019 and the leadership team! We are looking for assistance in creating job descriptions for the VBC 2019 volunteer positions. If you can help with this task, let Lisa at lisa@vrumc.org know!
A big thank you to Alfredo's for having us in your meeting room! Lunch was yummy, productive, and fun!
