Black History Celebration
As we move into Women's History month, we want to extend a special Thank You to Mrs. Lauren Pilliner for her assistance and creativity during Black History Month. From recreating a scene with NASA mathematician Katherine Johnson to paying tribute to Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs), she brought Black history to life for our students.
Teacher Absences
As we continue to make our way through flu season, I just wanted to send out a reminder regarding absences and securing a substitute. If you are not feeling well and think you may be out of the school the next day, please go ahead and place the absence in AESOP. AESOP will not allow you to enter an absence into the system after 6:00am which means it is unlikely that a substitute can be secured if you enter the absence the day you plan to be out. If you are able to make it in to work and the sub shows up, we will utilize the person in another capacity. If you need another copy of the substitute list, please email Dr. Bolds.
Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter.
COLD & FLU SEASON IS UPON US
Teachers ~ we need your help.
In an effort to monitor sickness in the building, we have asked that if you have a student in your class that is diagnosed (by a doctor) with strep throat, the flu, or any communicable illness, it is important that you notify Nurse Black (school nurse) in addition to having the student's parent reach out to Nurse Black. This is important because it will allow Nurse Black to closely monitor to see if there is a pattern or cluster of cases. Please notify Nurse Black via email at Pamela_Black at dekalbschoolsga.org or by phone at (678) 676-7507.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
