Message from Ms. Barkley, Coordinator of Early Learning
One of my favorite days to celebrate in October is Unity Day. The day provides us an opportunity to recognize that we can create a world without bullying and show kindness to all people. This year, the staff and students at the ELC showed our unity by wearing our ELC spirit wear shirts and taking a group photo.
The ELC hosted our first parent education day on October 21st. Thank you to those that were able to attend. The day provided the opportunity to learn how to support a child's cognitive, social emotional, speech and language, and physical development through play. Below you will find the handouts that were provided.
Our pumpkin carving night and Patch 22 field trip were also a huge success. At our pumpkin carving night we spent the evening celebrating the Halloween season by carving pumpkins and singing fun Halloween songs. On our field trip, the students visited the pumpkin patch, went on a hayride and engaged with the farm animals.
To wrap up the October festivities, on Monday, October 31st, students can wear their Halloween costumes to school and parents will be able to watch our Halloween parade. Our dismissal times will remain the same (10:55 and 3:05). We ask that if parents wish to take your child home that you do so at dismissal time. Please also send a note or contact the office if you are taking your child home and they typically ride the bus home.
If you have not done so already, please be sure to schedule a time to meet with your child's teacher on November 14th or November 17th during Parent Teacher Conferences. Click on you child's teacher's name below to select a time.
Have a wonderful weekend!
