Laurelton-Pardee News

May 13, 2016

Dear LP Families:

This was another exciting week at Laurelton-Pardee. We had visitors from the International Baccalaureate who were here to help us assess our growth with the Primary Years Program. We surely will have some great recommendations from their report.

We also finished concert season with a beautiful concert by our fifth grade chorus and senior band. Again, we owe a huge thank you to Mr. Trumpowsky and Mr. Savine for their leadership. What's more is our fourth graders are on a Field Trip to Genesee Country Museum today, AND our third graders are celebrating our second annual Culture Day with fun and educational activities throughout the day.

Finally, on Monday we held an assembly for the whole school. It featured Bush Mango Drum and Dance, which is an African drum and dance ensemble. Our students LOVED the whole thing - they learned some dance moves and even got to beat the drum. Thank you to our PTA for making this event possible.

Do you have a fifth grader?! Please think about helping coordinate and plan the fifth grade picnic. Not a planner? Then, would you mind helping with set up, supervision, and take down? If you can help us out with this LP tradition, please give the main office a call (or reply to the email), and we will connect you with the right person.

Box Tops for Education

Just a reminder, we are still collecting Box Tops for Education. Your child can bring them in and drop them off in the main lobby of school. The benefit to our school could be great - the PTA uses this money to buy things that support all students, like science club and Red Ribbon Week.
