Stilwell Monday Message

Weekly Student and Family Communication

Monday - 2/1/2021

Good Morning Stilwell students and families,

February is now upon us and we would like to remind you of some important upcoming dates.

  • Feb 8 - No School
  • Feb 17 - conferences
  • Feb 18 - conferences - asynchronous learning day with students working from home
  • Feb 26 - No school

We will have conferences in a couple of weeks and more information regarding them and the sign-up will be coming soon. We would like to remind our families to not stop on Vine Street to drop off your students as this creates unsafe traffic flow before and after school.

Erica Whittle - Principal

National School Counselors Week

This week marks national school counselors week, which always falls during the first full week of February. I would like to take a moment to thank Mr. Johnson and Ms. Cooper for everything that they do to support the students and staff at Stilwell.

Tigers of the Month

Every month each team selects two in-person students and one online student to be honored as their Tiger of the Month. The following students were not only selected by their team of teachers as exceptional students inside the classrooms but were also selected by their team of peers as their team's Tiger of the Month. For the month of January, the cornerstone teachers were focusing on was: Does the right thing. The Stilwell Student Council and Facility would like to give a BIG shout-out to the following students:

  • T - Valiant Jeptoo & Alvin Dong
  • I - Melayna Walker & Leah Morales
  • G - Damari Kazeze & Chivonte Auguste
  • E - Micheal McNamara & Avery Corso
  • R - Angeleia Woo & Jaron Horn
  • S - Taylor Jordal & Ethan Dong

This week will be focusing on appropriate mask-wearing in the halls and classrooms. Please make sure to have both your nose and mouth covered. Teachers will be recognizing students with PBIS reward points.

After the Bell

After the bell is an additional opportunity at the end of the day to get support with learning from a certified teacher. It will start on Tuesday, September 8th in the Stilwell cafeteria. Students will receive an additional snack using social distancing and are welcome to stay until 4:00 pm. After the bell will run each week Monday-Thursday. Parking Lot Protocol

We understand our parking lot drop-off and pick-up process can be time-consuming. However, we need all families to follow the procedures to ensure our students are safe. Please remember these guidelines:

  • Do not use the local business as a place to pick-up your child.
  • Do not drop off your student or stop for any reason along Vine Street.
  • Do not pull into the bus lanes along Vine Street.
  • Do not allow your student to exit the vehicle until you have pulled up to the curb in the parking lot.
  • Please drive slowly through the parking lot and on Vine St.

Stilwell Student Handbook 20-21

Throughout this year you may have questions, need clarifications, or might need to see who you can turn to for help. Please start with the Junior High Schools Handbook.
