D56 Announces New Superintendent
As many of you are aware, I will be retiring at the end of this school year. As such the Gurnee School District 56 Board of Education has named Dr. Luis Correa as the new Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2023. Dr. Correa has been with the school district as the Director of Curriculum, Multilingual Services and Assessment for three years. Prior to joining our district he was an administrator for both Waukegan School District 60 and Wheeling School District 21. We'd like to thank all of the staff and community members that participated in the interview process. Your commitment to our students and the future of our school district is greatly appreciated.
I believe they have made an excellent choice and am so pleased that the work we have done on the Strategic Plan and the Portrait of a Graduate will be supported as the district moves forward.
Congratulations, Dr. Correa!
