Archer Glen Fun Run
Next week we will send out grade level run times. Volunteers are needed and information for volunteering will be sent out next week, as well.
Be watching for the Fun Run packets that were sent home with your student today.
Fun Run Visitors
The Archer Glen Fun Run will be held on Friday, September 30th. Families are invited to attend and cheer on their student.
Visitors can park in the AG parking lot and will be asked to check in at a Visitor Station near the field behind the school. All visitors must wear a visitor sticker that will be handed out at the check-in station.
School Crossings
During these times we appreciate students and families using the designated crosswalks and guidance from our Crossing Guards for ultimate safety. The Crossing Guards have been trained by the Sherwood Police Department. They are at the crosswalks to provide student and family safety and to maintain ultimate traffic flow during school arrival and dismissal times.
For student and Crossing Guard safety do not drive through a crosswalk when a Crossing Guard is in the crosswalk holding up the STOP sign.
HelpCounter App for Volunteering
PAC is using a new app called HelpCounter to make it easier to sign up for PAC led volunteering opportunities. Follow these three easy steps to get started:
Step 2 Create an account using the same email that you share with the school
Step 3 Set your volunteer preferences and sign up for volunteer opportunities at Archer Glen
Archer Glen Passport Club
This year, all students (K-5) at Archer Glen Elementary have the opportunity to explore the world
through a program called The Passport Club - which is an effective and fun way to help achieve geographic literacy. Help us give our children the world!
Each child receives a passport, chooses an individual level of study and collects “stamps” for their passport as she/he learns some or all of the world’s countries over the course of the school year. Their passports will be held during the year and awarded to the children at the year-end assembly.
Club members meet once a month before school. Register by October 3rd, 2022.
Early Orders for Yearbook
If you are interested in ordering your student's yearbook early, see the attached flyer for a 10% discount if you order by September 30th. All orders are due by June 2, so you have plenty of time. See the attached flyer for more information.

The $35 registration fee covers the cost of the choir t-shirt, music, and transportation to performances. Cash or checks can be given to the front office, or directly to Ms. Brannan. Please make checks out to Archer Glen.

Arrival and Dismissal Protocols
Arrival
Students should arrive to school between 7:45 and 7:55am. Classes begin at 7:55am. Students can use either the Main Entrance or the Activities Entrance to enter the building starting at 7:45am. Students arriving after 7:55am should use the Main Entrance.
Vehicle drop off is along the main parking lot sidewalk. Students should exit vehicles from the passenger side. If your child needs your assistance exiting the vehicle, please park your vehicle in a parking slot as not to disrupt the flow of traffic in the drop off lane. When exiting the parking lot, vehicles must only turn RIGHT. This also helps to keep traffic flowing. There is no student drop off in the bus lane. The bus lane must remain clear of all arrival traffic.
Breakfast service begins at 7:30am. Students eating breakfast will enter through the Activities Entrance starting at 7:30am. See the Nutrition Department webpage for pricing.
Dismissal
Students are dismissed at 2:15pm from exterior classroom doors. On early release Wednesdays, students are released at 1:15pm. K-1 students who are walking home need to be picked up by a chaperone. Grades 1-5 can be picked up in the care line, but Kindergarten students must be picked up from the exterior classroom door. Kindergarten students will not be released to the car line by themselves.
