Family Newsletter
August
I hope your summer is going well and that your family has been able to relax and recharge! We had a great time at Meacham Park with the Kona Ice Truck. Thank you to PTO for sponsoring the truck, and thank you to all the families who were able to attend.
As you know, we have hired a new Assistant Principal, Dr. JaNae Alfred. You can meet her at our Popsicles on the Playground events (sponsored by PTO) or our Back to School Block Party. We are so excited to have her join our team and know that she is going to bring many great things to Robinson!
I will be resuming my weekly newsletter every Sunday beginning August 12th. In the meantime, everything you need for now can be found below.
Moving forward, we will have a Robinson student tee shirt that is color coordinated by grade level. We will wear our shirts for school events, recognition, and other designated Fun Fridays. The shirt color will rotate up with the grade level each year (example if K is blue this year, they will be blue through 5th grade). Please let me know your child's tee shirt size (recommend ordering up so it will fit longer) by completing this short google form (please complete the form after you receive your child's classroom placement tomorrow morning). The initial tee shirt cost will be covered, and if your child loses their shirt you will be responsible for covering the cost of an additional shirt within the same school year. We are excited that all students will have matching shirts!
I apologize that you were unable to complete the dismissal survey last month because you needed to know the classroom teacher. When you get your classroom welcome letter tomorrow morning, please be sure to fill this out. Click here to complete the dismissal survey for each of your children. This will allow teachers to know where to send your child at dismissal each day.
Please see the activities below for the month. We hope to see you soon!
Please reach out at any time to share any questions, concerns, or ideas. I am here to help and support you and your family. Thanks for all you do to help keep our students and staff safe.
Take Care-
Angeline

Robinson Parents/Guardians,
Please join us for Robinson's Welcome Back Family Breakfast on the first day of school, August 23rd at 8:45AM in the Outdoor Learning Center (OLC)! For those brand new to Robinson, the OLC is the covered picnic table area just to the left of the school when facing the front of the building. The Robinson PTO Welcoming Committee, Parent Guides for each grade level, and our larger parent community will be there to visit, drink coffee, and welcome the new school year together. We'd love to see you even if you only have a few minutes to spare!

Robinson Equity Group Summer Book Club
We welcome all Robinson parents and caregivers who are interested in deepening their understanding of equity to join us for this summer's book club! Our book club selection for this summer is My Black Friend Says: Lessons in Equity, Inclusion, and Cultural Competency by Heather Fleming. Our next meeting is August 10, 2022, from 6:00-7:30 pm in the OLC (Robinson pavilion). It's ok if you can't make it to both; don't let that stop you from participating.

Supply Lists for '22-'23
Consider purchasing all your School Supplies from Bright SchoolKitz - A one-stop online shopping experience
PTO is working with a school supply company, Bright SchoolKitz, to provide families with an opportunity to purchase all of their school supplies with a click of a button. Once ordered, the supplies will be shipped directly to the student's address within 2-3 weeks. This option would allow families to purchase supplies without having to go into stores or find each item independently. We hope that you will find this service to be convenient and efficient. Please visit the website to view supplies and prices. https://www.brightschoolkitz.com/Store/School/7366 Select "Order Kits" at the top of the page and then search for Robinson under the "Find Your School" prompt.
Bright SchoolKitz is a mom-run, family-owned, mission-focused company. We offer competitively-priced, high-quality school supply kits, shipped to school or home, that are customized to your teachers' supply lists or bulk supplies ordered for the entire school. To give back to the community, we employ adults with developmental disabilities to hand pack a portion of our kits. You'll be pleased to know that with our service there are no fees or required minimum purchases. Most of us here at Bright SchoolKitz also volunteer at our kids' schools or within our communities, so we know your time is valuable; therefore, we strive to keep our program simple and convenient.

Updated Nurses' Note below
Here are a few things to remember for the start of the next school year, and items you can do ahead to prepare.
Immunizations
As your child goes to the doctor this summer, for check ups, and sports physical, please also talk to the doctor about any immunizations that may be needed for school. By school guidelines, all Immunizations need to be completed in order to attend school.
Health Action Plans-
If your child has any medical issues (Asthma, Diabetes, Food Allergies, Seizures) or any medical issues that may require additional support, please get those action plans from your doctor. The Doctor offices are aware of these Action plans and can print them out.
Medications taken at School-
If your child will be taking medication at school, during school hours, they will need a medication permission form filled out. A medication form will also be needed for over the counter medication. All medication needs to be in the original bottle, container, or box, with the student's name on it. (this also includes inhalers, need to be in the original box) Check expirations dates, so no medication is expired. If you can get one that does not expire at the end of the school year, that helps so you do not need to replace it half way through the year.
You may start sending paperwork into school, Via email, or drop off at the school through the summer, with my name on it. If you have any questions, please email me, and let me know.
Thank you, and have a great summer,
Nurse Cyndi
