What's Going On In The World Of Shepherd Middle

DECEMBER 10, 2017

At Shepherd Middle School, there is a lady who works tirelessly for the best of our school and students. Her name is Mrs. Patricia Francisco. Here is her story on how she developed the night of December 7th, 2017.

Middle School Book Fair

Before the book fair began, I held a bookmark design contest with a winner from each grade level. These bookmarks will be printed and distributed through the library. Each winner won a $25 gift certificate to spend at the book fair.

I also had Got Caught Reading in the Library certificates printed up. I handed these out to students that were reading as asked in the library. Ten names were drawn from the Got Caught Reading bin and these students received $10 gift certificates to the book fair.

I asked teachers to make a wish list for books they would like to have in their classroom library. Students bought books for their teachers as gifts and the Library gave each teacher that filled out a wish list a book.

We had 2 Parent Volunteers who helped make this book fair a big success. Tracy Smith and Amanda Addison were great to work with. They helped from set up to the last day of sales and even came to work our Parent night. I know our book fair would not be the success it was without their help.

*What she didn't tell you, is that some of the proceeds, she donated to the teacher wish lists. She is truly one of the most humble women I know.

The Christmas Spirit is alive in Shepherd Middle School! Be blessed.
