School Hours: 8:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Dear Millsap Parents,
May 29, 2019
The Millsap students had a fantastic year, full of success, fun, and accomplishments. Although we will miss our fifth graders as they travel to middle school next year, we are looking forward to greeting a new batch of kindergarteners (and all of our returning Mustangs!) in August.
Our 2019-2020 school year will start Monday, August 26, 2019. The instructional day for grades K-5 is the same as this year, 8:45 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Students will be allowed in the building starting at 8:30 a.m. You are highly encouraged to allow your students to use their normal mode of transportation on the first day of school.
In creating homerooms, we consider students’ strengths, needs, social abilities, work habits, and talents. This is a decision that we carefully make after getting input from classroom teachers, PE/Fine Arts teachers, and administrators. Student class assignments will be available at Meet the Teacher.
Meet the Teacher will be held on Thursday, August 22, for grades 1-5. We are hoping that having the event in the evening will afford more parents the opportunity to attend. In an effort to help with parking we will have our Pre-K – Kindergarten Meet the Teacher on Friday, August 23.
It has been an honor to serve as Millsap’s principal this year. I am looking forward to the next school year, and I wish all of you a safe and happy summer break.
NOTES FROM OUR NURSE
Please remember to pick up all medications that are in the clinic before the end of the year. District policy requires that all medication must be picked up by the parent or legal guardian.
All medication must be picked up by 5/30/19. Please make arrangements to pick up your child's medication by 4:00pm that day.
Any medication that is not picked up will be disposed of by the nurse according to district guidelines.

Millsap Memorial Scholarship Recipients
Thanks to generous parents, students, and staff during our Spaghetti Dinner Night,
Millsap was able to award
THREE former Mustangs $1,000 Scholarships!
Every single application was a testament to hard work and high goals; it was very difficult to determine only 3 recipients. The committee appreciated the time, care, and effort put into each application. All of our candidates demonstrated real achievement and potential for the future. We want to wish them every success in their educational pursuits and extend our best wishes for the coming year.
We would like to congratulate the recipients of the 2019 Millsap Memorial Scholarship:
Ashley Hernandez – Cy-Fair High School
Luin Larson – Cy-Fair High School
Thomas Veenstra – Cy-Fair High School
Again, we would like to thank everyone for their commitment to make Millsap students successful – even beyond 5th grade!
Lost Library Book?
Can’t find your book?
Try to remember the last place you read it.
What does the book look like? Was it big or small? Thick or thin?
If you can’t remember, ask the librarian for a print-out of the book so you know what you’re looking for.
Here is a list of actual places kids have found their missing library books:
In the car
On top of the refrigerator
Under the couch
Under their bed
In the laundry basket
In their brother’s or sister’s room
In a toy box
In the bathroom
At Grandma's house
Inside a drawer
On a bookshelf
In a shoe box
In the garage
Between the bed and the wall
At school, in their desk cubby
On a teacher’s shelf
On the bus
In their backpack
If the book still cannot be found, it must be purchased. Our Librarian will send home a notice with the price of the replacement cost if it is lost. Once the book is paid for, your child will be able to continue checking out library books.
If at any time the book is found in good condition, a full refund will be issued.
Student Address Change and Personal Information Updates
At Millsap Elementary we strive to provide a quality education to the children who live in our attendance area.
We encourage all parents to keep all personal contact information current. If your living situation has changed or you have relocated, please make sure to contact the school registrar before the end of the school year. If the lease that we have in our records expires during the summer, we will request an updated proof of residency in August before the first day of school.
Kindergarten & Prekindergarten registration will resume during New Student Registration on August 13-16.
For more detailed information in regards to Proof of Residency or Registration Documents, information is listed on our district website: www.cfisd.net under PARENT & STAFF > REGISTRATION tab. Thank you!
