Weekly Update
Soledad Students Take On The Kindness Challenge.
The entire week of January 24 - January 31 students at Soledad Unified took on the "Kindness Challenge" and joined other students worldwide in showing each other kindness. The random act of "Kindness" can not only change self, change others but the community and eventually the world. The goal of the challenge is to teach students empathy and also to combat bullying and build students' self-esteem. Some schools are working on different activities with students about being Kind throughout the month which include reading books, art activities, spirit week, and lunch recess activities. We are hoping that the Act of Kindness transcends beyond school activities into a way of life.

SUSD Administrators and TOSA Attend Illuminate Training in Anaheim
On January 29th eleven SUSD administrators and TOSAs traveled to Anaheim to learn about the many services Illuminate System offers. The training was a great opportunity for us to speak with experts in their field who are using one or more illuminate products. At the training, we realized how much potential illuminate offers and how little we have scratched the surface of its many services. We also supported our own John Rastatter, who received a Platinum Level Certification for his use and training of SUSD teachers in their use of Illuminate. Congratulations John!
