8th Grade Update
May 11, 2018
Dear 8th Grade Students and Families,
Let me start by saying that every single day I am proud to be the 8th grade homeroom teacher and there is no way I'd rather spend my days than learning and growing with each and every one of you.
Now, I know that the amount of love and respect I have for you can be a blessing... and a curse. And today it might have felt like more of a curse. I know I was hard on your today (extra hard). But the simple truth is this: the reasons why I love and respect you are the same reasons why I'm hard on you. I see the world in each of you and when you make choices and take action in a way that is anything less than the awesomeness I know you're capable of, I get frustrated and I want to do whatever it takes to get you back on track.
Parents, I've sent home a letter with your child filling you in on how 8th grade as a whole needs to step up and refocus on being leaders of Sacred Heart. I've asked 8th grade to read the letters with you over the weekend and I encourage you all to reflect with your child on what they want for their last weeks at Sacred Heart. We started this conversation together in class today and would love for it to continue at home because, in the end, we all want the same thing: to feel proud of ourselves and each other, to be happy, and to leave Sacred Heart knowing that we did our very best (thank you, Katherine, for putting words to this for us!). Please sign and return the letter on Monday morning.
I look forward to welcoming all of you back to school on Monday rested and refocused on what really matters: finishing the year strong, happy, and proud.... together.
Love,
Ms. K
