Irmo Elementary Family Updates

#HeartoftheHive November 28-December 2

A Note From Your Principal

Dear IES Families,

I hope you each had a terrific few days with family for Thanksgiving. We are looking forward to the 2022 Book Fair opening tomorrow and our 2022 Literacy Night on Tuesday evening. Please see the information below for specific details. Before leaving for the break, our second grade students marched through the halls in Irmo Elementary's version of The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Our students at all grade levels clapped and cheered for their awesome balloon float creations! I hope you enjoy a few of the pictures captured below. Thank you again to our families for volunteering at our 2022 Teacher Tailgate by covering the classes in the cafeteria so that teachers could enjoy a lunch with their team. Your service hearts shined once again!

We are thrilled to announce that the IES Book Fair and Literacy Night are on the horizon. This year's events will be held in person and we look forward to all our families in the hive participating this year!

BOOK FAIR - November 28 – December 2

Book Fair will run November 28th through December 2nd and your child will be able to shop with their class during their designated library time for the week. This year, parents can shop with their children during their class time. Check with your child's teacher for the day and time they will visit the fair that week.

To learn more about the fair, how to set up an e-wallet for your child (no more sending cash, plus, other family members can add to it), preview books and watch book trailers, and shop online at the Book Fair click here:

Literacy Light attendees will have the opportunity to get some shopping knocked out at the amazing Scholastic IES Book Fair. We know everyone is excited to attend the Literacy Night, and we want to make sure we don't get too overcrowded all at once. Please sign up for a time that your family would like to attend. Just 1-time slot per family. This will give us an idea to make sure we have enough crafts and snacks prepared.
