January Awareness:
2024-2025 Academic Calendar Now Available
The Melissa ISD academic calendar for the 2024-2025 school year, as recommended by the District Site-Based Decision Committee, has been approved by the Melissa Schools Board of Trustees.
To view the 2024-2025 school calendar, visit www.melissaisd.org/calendar. The calendar can also be accessed throughout the year in the navigation menu under “Calendars & Events” on each school website, and in the "Documents" section of the Melissa ISD app.

Melissa High School Boys Basketball to Host MLK Day Future Cards Camp
The Melissa High School Boys Basketball program invites all students in grades K-5th to join the MLK Future Cards Basketball Camp on Monday, Jan. 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Melissa High School Gym. Campers will receive basketball training, a team poster to be signed by players, and an MLK Future Cards Camp shirt. Additionally, campers wearing their shirt to the Varsity Boys Basketball home game on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 7pm will be recognized at halftime. The cost is $35 per camper. Bullets Over Broadway
MHS Theatre presents "Bullets Over Broadway" from January 25-27, 2024, at Melissa Arts Center. Join us for evening shows on Jan. 25-26 at 7 p.m. and two performances on Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Perfect for ages 12 and up! Melissa High School Girls Basketball Coach Katie Stinton Earns 300th Career Win
Congratulations to Melissa High School Girls Basketball Coach, Katie Stinton, for reaching a remarkable milestone of 300 career wins with a Lady Cardinal victory against the Denison Yellow Jackets on Friday, Jan. 5, 2024. The Lady Cardinals are off to a strong start, leading 4-0 in District 13-5A and 17-7 on the season. They head to McKinney North to take on the Bulldogs at 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 12, 2024. Sit With Us is a monthly discussion group to address concerns, ask questions and determine ways to collectively work toward solutions with your child’s campus administration. The philosophy of Sit With Us is that Melissa parents are Cardinal Champions who see the best for not only their students but for all students. If it matters to one Cardinal, it matters to all Cardinals.
