Norma Jaime Receives Above & Beyond

LHS Hallway Gets a Facelift
The next time you are in Lyons High School, you will almost certainly notice a big change in scenery in the main hallway. Just across the hall from the gymnasium doors is a new 96 square foot lion mural painted by LHS art teacher Leah Bowers! Thank you Mrs. Bowers.
MS Grapplers Dominate CKL Tournament
The Lyons Middle School boys' wrestling team won the 2023 CKL League Championship, placing 12 wrestlers in the top four in their weight class, including six individual champions. The team scored a whopping 169 points, 32.5 points ahead of second place Pratt. The girls' team, with only three wrestlers, placed all three girls in the top four of their weight classes. Individual champions include: Marius L, Rhette K, Jace G, Brennan B, Logan S, Alexander Y, and Macy S. Congratulations to the whole team and to coaches Kolten Clarke, Kody Clarke and Trenton VanEaton!
K-State Ag Students Visit LHS
Approximately 30 Kansas State agriculture teaching interns and professors stopped at Lyons High School this week during their Kansas corn tour. They visited Kansas Ethanol, Knight Feedlot and LHS. LHS ag instructor Kristin Dolechek discussed starting an ag program and the differences between Nebraska and Kansas programs. She showed the tour group the LHS facilities including the industrial education shops and the ag classroom.
LHS Band Receives Excellent Rating at League Festival

Adulting
Lyons High School students spent Monday this week "adulting". they traveled to 11 different businesses and government entities to learn about basic issues they will face as young adults. For more information check out the post on Facebook.
3A Sub-State Basketball Hosted by LHS
LHS Athletic Director Jeff Fuss has his hands full this week as he is the tournament director for the Lyons 3A Sub-State Basketball Tournament, showcasing some of the top teams in 3A State. The girls semi-finals were played on Thursday. The boys semi-finals are played on Friday, and the Finals for both girls and boys will be played on Saturday at LHS.
Lyons Rotary LHS Scholarship Dinner
At Saturday evening's Sub-State Finals, the Lyons Rotary Club will be hosting a Frito chili pie and cinnamon roll dinner to fund scholarships for LHS graduates. The dinner will start at 5:00 and end at 7:00 in the LHS cafeteria. The cost is $7.00 per person.
