Erdenheim Elementary
“Home of the Spartans where we are Spartan Strong!”
Dear Erdenheim Families,
The year is off to a great start here at Erdenheim! Students are showing so much Spartan PRIDE and already working so hard learning in class. Besides already diving into our core academic subjects, we have a bunch of new things going on to start the year here. Those include:
Our strings program is off to a great start with students getting their instruments for the first time this week! Students have been so excited to get their violins, cellos, and other string instruments for the first. Students in band have also been getting their instruments and beginning their lessons as well!
5th grade has moved to a departmentalized schedule for the first time where students move to a different teacher for ELA, math, and science/social studies. 5th grade students are handling this responsibility really well and are enjoying getting to work with different teachers each day.
We replaced our rectangular cafeteria tables with new round ones this year. It seems like a little change but it really makes it so much easier for students to socialize and enjoy lunch with their friends. Spartans have been doing a great job at lunch so far!
Students have been using their brand new Chromebooks and enjoying the flexibility to use the touchscreen and stylus during different learning opportunities.
Additionally, students are currently taking their Fall STAR online assessment in reading and math. The STAR assessment is an adaptive test that responds to your child’s performance. For example, if a student answers a question correctly, the next test item will be more difficult. If the student answers a question incorrectly, the next test item will be less difficult. The results from this assessment along with other assessments will be used to help inform our teachers of your child's strengths and areas that might need additional support. STAR reports will be shared with families during fall conferences.

- Encouraging staff and families to stay up-to-date on vaccinations
- Encouraging everyday prevention including staying home when sick, getting tested, improving ventilation, hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette, and cleaning and disinfection.
- Allowing individuals to mask as necessary
- Temporarily stopping high-risk activities
For more information on K-12 School recommendations, please visit the MontCoOPH website.
