The Goshen Gazette
August 2020
From the Principal - Mr. Graves
I hope you are enjoying the last few days of summer break and are looking forward to another school year. We continue to prepare for the 2020-2021 school year, and are looking forward to seeing your children, even though it will be through the distance learning model. We look forward to the day we can have them return to the school building.
Welcome to the Goshen Gazette. This will be the monthly newsletter where you can find information from me about happenings at the school, ways you can support the school and your student(s), and upcoming events for the month. Your child's teacher will most likely communicate with you weekly or every other week through their chosen way of communicating. Hopefully, between their communication and this newsletter, you will be well informed as to what is happening at school and will find the information helpful. In this edition of the newsletter you will find information for the upcoming opening of school.
Schedule for Picking up District Supplied Materials and Technology
Gahanna Jefferson Public Schools is providing each student with an electronic device (computer) to use for the school year. We have scheduled a date and time for you to pick up your child's computer along with additional district supplied materials the classroom teacher wants your child to have to start the school year. Below is the schedule you are asked to follow when picking up the supplies.
August 19th
- 9:00-10:00 (5th grade and younger siblings/household members)
- 10:00-11:00 (4th grade and younger siblings/household members)
- 11:00-12:00 (3rd grade and younger siblings/household members)
- 12:00-1:00 (2nd grade and younger siblings/household members)
- 1:00-2:00 (K-1 and younger siblings/household members)
- 5:30-6:30 (Anyone who still needs to pick up supplies)
Note: This is the time we are recommending for your family. If the recommended time does not fit your family’s schedule, select another time.
August 20th
- 11:00-1:00 (Anyone who still needs to pick up supplies)
When picking up the supplies please have with you your parent/guardian ID (this must match what we have in the Infinite Campus System). ID can be a driver’s license, federal ID with a picture or a work ID with a picture. Supplies will not be distributed without the proper identification.
If your child participated in the district’s summer school program and received a computer, you will continue to use that computer and you do not have to pick one up when collecting the other district provided supplies.
If you ordered supplies through the PTA and the 1st Day School Supplies company, you may pick up those supplies at the scheduled time as well.
- To do our best to ensure the safety of everyone involved, no students or parents will enter the building; a drive-thru structure will be used, much like what was done at the end of last school year.
