Re: The Banquet
Online Assignments & Banquet Updates
Players/Parents,
I hope this email finds you healthy, and I hope you are all surviving the quarantine. My family is doing well. We are all just ready to return to "normal" life as I'm sure you all are as well. I wanted to update you on 2 important tennis items.
- I am sure most of you are aware that tennis has weekly online assignments just like all other courses. It is not meant to add busywork to the workload you already have. ALL teachers are required to have online learning and to receive weekly check-ins from their students. Tennis is no exception. I have made contact with all players that I did not hear from on the first week (3/23-3/27). Starting this week players who don't check in on Schoology each week will receive a zero for the week. Again, it is not intended to be a burden. It is my way to help keep you in good tennis shape and check on your well being. CHS is currently working on a partnership with Performance Course; but, for now, continue doing the weekly choice board.
- Sadly, we have made the decision to cancel this year's tennis banquet. We held out hope that we would return to school and be able to have a "normal" banquet, but it became apparent that that would be highly unlikely. We feel that to continue pursuing a mass gathering at this point would be an unwise decision. We are considering other options such as an online awards meeting either as a large group or by teams. We would also be open to player-led presentations (such as short video clips of players sharing tennis memories). That is where you come in. Please send us feedback on the online awards presentations as well as creative player-driven video ideas.
