Chinese Institute April 16th
Thank you so much for all your quick response and willingness to let your child participate on the 16th! We are working very hard to learn Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in Mandarin AND the movements to go with the song.
I will have more information about the exact times, etc. BUT for now I do know this:
Please let me know (email me, or return the hard copy I will send out on Monday, how many tickets you will need for the April 16th performance. The students will get in free, but I do need to let Mr. Yu know rather quickly how many tickets per child to get.
He did tell me that students should wear normal clothes. There will be no need to match, or buy anything special. I am still working on getting a little more specific with that translation.
If you have any questions, please email me. I am meeting with the producers again this week and hope to find out a more definite schedule to pass along to you.

Field Trips
Thank you to our parents who were able to help during our Fossil Find Field Trip. That was really fun and the kids learned so much about prehistoric life on our Monte Sano Mountain.
Our next field trip will be May 13th to learn about Huntsville History at Maple Hill Cemetary
Dr. Seuss Cafe
Making bracelets for the Red Cross
Dr, Seuss Cafe
Class Work
We still have 7 more weeks of school. Please continue to review the multiplication facts with your child. Students will be learning how to multiply and divide 2 digit numbers.
We are also reviewing addition and subtraction with regrouping. .....and fractions.
In Language Arts, students have been writing and creating stories. We are working on adding adverbs, adjectives, and figurative language.
We are really concentrating on plants and the environment for our last IB unit of the year.
HOME WORK
Last week, only about 1/2 of the students completed homework. I am not sure where the communication breakdown happened, but with 7 weeks left of school, we still have lots to do.
Monday-Spelling words 5 times each
Tuesday- ABC order
Wednesday- write a paragraph with 1 of the vocabulary words. The vocabulary words will be tested on Friday and are a huge part of our Science or Social Studies for the week. So I really look for those paragraphs on Thursday morning.
Have a great week.
Please remember to let me know how many tickets you will need for April 16th.
PS. I have lots of pics from this year and plan on making a Shutterfly album so that you can view them all. It's all about time :)
