Paraphrase passport
We shared with our partner what we did over the long weekend but with a twist. The person who was sharing was holding a passport. The partner had to listen and then tell the person who shared exactly what was said. If the partner was correct, he/she got the passport and it was now his/her turn to share while the first partner listened. We are building our listening skills in a fun way.
Math
We played a math game with equations that had a true answer or a false answer. The children would move 2 on the game board if the answer was true, move 1 space if the answer was false.
Sight words
Who doesn't want to do quiz quiz trade with a sticky note? We traded sticky notes sight words with our friends but some of us got a little creative or a little tired of holding the sticky part....
Technology
We are continuing our work with the Seesaw app. This time, we made math equations that were true or false and had to prove it. These students really know how to talk about math! You can still sign up for it here:
Click on https://app.seesaw.me/s/804-243-477 to sign up -- it takes just 30 seconds.
Science
Learning about the life cycle of a pumpkin has been our science focus. We learned how a pumpkin starts as a seed then followed the cycle until it grows into a pumpkin. We will continue our pumpkin unit next week.
phonics
Tapping out sounds and blending them into words and then writing them has been our weekly practice. Keep practicing the sight words that come home weekly.
Top Dog
Jiwelle loves running and eating (me too, but not the running part). She loves bunnies and wants to be a gym teacher when she grows up!
Earl is always ready for a selfie...
Doggy Bag
1. We are still collecting recyclable material--cardboard tubes. boxes,....
2. Please have your child practice tying their shoes if they don't know how. There are some pretty cool ways on youtube if you are looking for a way to teach this skill.
