High Fives for Attendance Campaign: Make sure your student is in class five days per week!

High Fives For Attendance. Be Present. Be Engaged. Be Great.

At DPS, we're launching our High Fives for Attendance campaign to remind students, parents, and the community at large that every student should be in every class everyday. We know that attendance is one of the biggest graduation indicators, and it is hard for children to catch up from missed days. Please join us in our efforts to make attendance a priority this year!

Tiny Tidbits: Small bits of news from DPS!

- On Wednesday, our first cohort of 20 Early College Scholars had orientation at Danville Community College. Twenty students from Galileo and GW will complete their junior and senior years at DCC and graduate with their high school diplomas and Associates Degrees.

- On Wednesday, Woodberry Hills Fifth Graders had 100 PERCENT attendance. Congratulations to those members of the Wolfpack!

- Our GW JV football team won their game last night against William Fleming. The Varsity team plays at William Fleming tonight. Let's Go Eagles!

- Our schools have received some generous donations this week! We would like to thank Tracy Meade from West Piedmont PDC for donating supplies to kindergarteners at Park Avenue, the Danville Professional Women's Association for their supply donation to Woodberry, and the Chatham Rotary Club and Columbia Forest for donating book bags and supplies to our students at Gibson.

Make sure to update your contact information!

If you recently changed your cell phone number or moved, please be sure to let your child's school know as soon as possible. This is critical in parent communication and making sure we can reach you for informational, as well as emergency, communications!
