Operation Day of Innovation 1/22/14


Students will engage in high-interest and hands-on lessons throughout the day. This is the 100th day of school, so some activities will have the "100" theme.

A Few Examples of Activities Throughout the Day

5th Grade - Students will read Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. One activity is that they will construct origami cranes.

4th Grade - Students will complete activities based on 100. One example is that students will "age" a picture of themselves on an IPad app then write about life 100 years from now.

3rd Grade - Students will create animal habitats and discover how animals forage for food.

2nd Grade - One activity is that students will extract and study DNA from Strawberries.

1st Grade - One activity - Engineering with toothpicks and marshmallows.

K - Lots of 100's activities.

PreK - Young scientists will measure and weigh different objects.

Day of Innovation Schedule (approximate times)

5th Grade - 8am - 9am

4th Grade - 8am- 10am

3rd Grade - 12:30pm - 2:00pm

2nd Grade - 9am until 2pm

1st Grade - 9:10am - 12pm

Kindergarten - 8am - 10:30am

PreK - 8 - 9am
