WHAT A SEUSSTASTIC WEEK!!
MARCH 6,2015
THIS WEEK
Dear Families,
What a great week we just had! We celebrated Dr. Seuss' Birthday and read most of his stories! Our favorite book was Green eggs and Ham; foscusing on trying new things, Respect of others' opinions, Friendship and Patience. ALL the rhyming words were exposed in all centers; and we just loved the song that had your children dancing excitedly to its beat.
Wednesday´s Bringing Literature to life celebration went great!! We all looked great as Pete the Cat!!
I would like to thank all the Mystery readers who volunteered to share a story with the children! They really love to have their parents participate in school activities.

SONG OF THE WEEK
Green Eggs and Ham song
I do not like Green Eggs and Ham
I do not like them
Sam, I am
I do not like them here or there
I do not like them anywhere
I do not like them in a boat
I would not, could not, with a goat
I will not eat them in the rain
I do not like them on a train.

NEXT WEEK
Our class will begin to study trees. We’ll be observing and comparing trees to learn about what lives in them, what they’re made from, and who cares for them. We hope that this study will help children explore and appreciate nature. As we study trees, we will use literacy, math, arts and technology to explore the topic in depth
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PETE'S IN THE WORLD!
LEARNING ABOUT DIFFERENT AUTHORS AND BOOKS IN THE OTHER PK 4'S!
TIP OF THE WEEK
You can help your child explore and appreciate nature by learning about trees. Share stories about your favorite childhood memories involving trees and games you might have played around them.
Wonder aloud with your child to encourage his or her thinking about trees.
“I wonder why leaves fall from trees”
“I wonder what makes some trees grow so big.”
Walk around your neighborhood and examine trees. Take a small bag with you and gather interesting parts that have fallen, such as leaves, twigs, acorns, nuts, and bark to place in our Discovery Center!
REMINDERS
We will start a fun filled recycling learning adventure with the children; however, it can only be made possible with your help!
The purpose of this adventure is to teach your kids the importance of recycling and make them aware of the various ways in which to help the environment. Throughout this adventure, we hope that your kids will be motivated to change their habits and begin to make an impact by recycling. You don’t need to buy anything just send clean used items from home.
We can use your help to gather the following items Recyclable Materials:
* Water bottles
* Interesting paper scraps to share (wrapping paper, crepe paper, wallpaper, tissue paper, etc.).
