ELM MIDDLE SCHOOL’S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
April 14, 2023
Principal's Message
We hope everyone had a wonderful week! What an amazing week at Elm Middle School. Our students took part in our annual Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR). This is a big test for our students for us as educators to see how they have progressed academically this year. I'm proud to report that Elm Middle School had 98% of students test during our regularly scheduled testing days, and we are finishing up with make-ups in the coming days. Great job, Cougars! We are so proud of you and all of your hard work each and everyday!
It's crazy, but we're almost into May; take sometime this weekend to map out a plan for your students to finish the year strong! It will be here before we know it!
Additionally, to our 8th parents/guardians, take a few moments tor read through the 8th grade information for all things graduation related. We can't wait to celebrate our Class or 2023.
Also, next Friday, April 21st, the Elm PAT will be hosting a Spring Dance for all students. Students should dress in casual attire. As a reminder there is no outside food or drink allowed in the event, and we will have additional presence from the EPPD for safety.
Please take a few minutes to read through this week’s Cougar Courier. As always, should you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly. Have a nice weekend. #TeamElmStrong
Most Sincerely,
Ms. Ashley Groeneveld
Assistant Principal's Corner
As we end this week of state testing, it is important to recognize the hard work and dedication from our staff and our students alike. This week can often be hectic as it comes with a great deal of coordination and strategic planning. Our students were prepared and made each day of testing go seamlessly. They worked very hard and did their best to be expressive of the skills they have obtained throughout the year. Likewise, our teachers and support staff created an energetic, positive, supportive environment for our testers. It was a great week, and it made me proud to be a Cougar!
Parents and Guardians , thank you all for your continued support and dedication to your children. I hope you all enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend - GO COUGARS!
