Message From Mr. Goddard
Barron Park Elementary
Aug 26, 2020
Good Afternoon Barron Park Families,
Thanks for your support the past few weeks making sure your child(ren) are well prepared for each school day. I have had the opportunity to join a number of zoom classroom sessions and have been quite impressed with student engagement, participation, and enthusiasm for learning. We will be in the distance learning model for a while so let’s make sure to continue to work together to keep this positive momentum going.
Barron Park educators have been exceptional with their attention to detail and communication with students and families to help get the school year off to a good start. This is the high standard we set for ourselves every year but the current learning model requires a little extra time to make sure everything runs smoothly. This is a dedicated group that selected to have Back to School Night on the second day of school to share, review expectations, and to address questions so we can begin the year successfully together. Parent attendance was very high and much appreciated.
Sharing academic materials and supplies so children can be successful at home throughout the fall will be important. Thanks to our generous PTA, we have excellent funding for school supplies. Currently, we are working on our systems and procedures for families to pick-up materials safely. In the next few weeks, look for information from your child’s teacher with specific pick-up times. Our goal is to have these types of materials available for pick-up every two weeks.
School Site Council
We need two additional parents to serve on our Barron Park School Site Council this year. Our Site Council is made up of four parents and four staff members. We work together to review data about student learning and social and emotional health. From this, we develop an annual plan for continuous improvement that’s presented to the PAUSD School Board each spring. We meet monthly, usually on Tuesday afternoons. If you are interested in serving, please contact Principal Goddard at egoddard@pausd.org.

In the book "Bad Brows" by Jason Carter Eaton, Bernard wakes up one day to find something has happened! Bernard has a new pair of eyebrows that do not play by the rules!
Bad Brows in Rm 6, 9, & 10!
Students at Barron Park enjoyed reading all about Bernard's wild brows and creating their own. Many students decided that the more facial hair, the better. In the photos, you will see some unruly brows accompanied by some crazy mustaches. This weekend we encourage Barron Park families to create their own bad brows together.
