Compare & Contrast

Ed Sheeran and Jessie J have many similarities and differences but they're both very ambitious in different ways. Both artists are successful because of their ambition.

At a young age Ed began playing guitar and not soon after he met a singer that told him he had "Potential" That inspired him. At just 14 years old his ambition drove him to London to make his singing career come true which meant his dream for singing was pretty strong since he did all of that to make his dreams come true. In London he started recording and at first he needed improvement, but the more he kept writing and recording the better he got... to sum it all up that all lead up to today. Now Ed's album is Number 1 in the U.S and U.K.

Jessie J is also another good example of an ambitious character, At first she didn't want to be in the spotlight part of the reason why she didn't is because of her irregular heartbeat and stroke she experienced. But after awhile Jessie decided that she wanted to be something so she started creating songs on her own and she got signed to a label, but shortly after she got signed for it the label went bankrupt before she even released her album she didn't let that stop her though Jessie continued writing songs and got signed to another record now today she is very successful and was quoted as saying

“I’m good at what I do, so I should enjoy every aspect of it. I’m nearly 27 and I’m nowhere near done. I feel like I’ve only just got my foot in the door.”

Those are some examples of ambitious people.

Abraham Lincoln became a successful president but that doesn't mean he didn't have problems he dealt with. Abraham lost his job, failed in business, had his sons die, had a nervous breakdown, and lost almost every political office he ever ran for before becoming elected the 16th President of the United States. It was tough but Abraham did everything he could to overcome all of this and he did. Starting off with losing his job he didn't let that stop after losing his job he kept trying to find a new job and eventually he did. For the business as well he didn't let that stop him from achieving his dreams. His sons dying effected him the most though, because they were everything to him and Mary. But he had to move on and that motivated him to try harder.

Cause & Effect (Johnny Depp)

Johnny is a successful actor now but he's been through many struggles that caused him to be where he is now. Johnny Depp had a rough and interesting childhood. His dad worked as a civil engineer and his mom worked as a waitress. Johnny was the youngest of 4 children so he was very withdrawn and a "oddball". He made weird noises and turned off light switches twice, His parents actually thought he had Tourette's syndrome. Johnny and his family moved a lot because of his fathers job. They lived in a motel for almost a year until his father found a job. Once they moved Johnny hated the new house and by the age of 12 he started smoking and picking up bad habits because of family problems. When Johnny was 15 his parents divorced, so Johnny had to go to his fathers office and pick up child support money. The split between his parents caused a "Rift" Between Johnny and his father. Johnny got older and started to find himself.

Description (Bethany Hamilton)

Bethany Hamilton is an American Professional Surfer who was born February 8th, 1990 in Kauai, Hawaii and learned how to surf from a very young age from her parents and two brothers which were also surfers. Now Bethany is very successful and happy with her life but she's had to overcome many challenges. Her parents started to teach her how to surf before she was even 5! She enjoyed it very much and was fascinated by it. In 1998 Bethany was in her first real surf competition and won both divisions which motivated her to become a professional surfer and when she was 9 she received a sponsorship and over the years she became better and better. But on October 31st, 2003 tragedy struck.. and it changed her life forever. It was a normal day when she decided to go for a normal morning surf with her best friend and family, she was lying on her surfboard with her with her left arm dangling in the water when out of no where a tiger shark came from beneath the water and attacked her. At first she didn't even notice (surprisingly) but she saw that the shark bit of her left arm so her Best friend and father rushed to help her and she was taken to the hospital. On the way to the hospital she lost a lot blood and felt numb. The doctors told her parents that her chances of survival where slim, but she fought back and survived. She was traumatized by this incident but she didn't want it to stop her from continuing her love of surfing. Only after a couple weeks she decided she wanted to continue surfing and that's what she did. Afterwards she got use to swimming with one arm and she became even better then before.
