CRES Fest Basket

This year our theme will be SPORTS NATION! We will be accepting donations for our class basket now through March 20th! Any sports related donation is greatly appreciated to help make our class basket a success. A detailed note will be coming home with your student on Monday afternoon. Please look for this in their folder!

We really enjoyed the Wonderwheels BMX assembly today. Check it out below!

Announcements:

Multiplication Facts: Please be sure your child is practicing their multiplication facts at least 3 times a week. The difficulty of our math continues to increase and can be a much bigger challenge for those who do not yet know their multiplication facts.

**Scholastic Book orders: Just a reminder that you can always go online to scholastic.com/readingclub and check out the new books they have for your child! There are often great deals and more books are offered than the ones displayed in the catalog. Our classroom code is LB8YK. I will be submitting our January order on Monday, January 26!

Star of the Week:

I can't wait to celebrate each one of them and the uniqueness they bring to our class. A folder will be sent home on the Thursday BEFORE your child's week. This has a letter for you and all the information you will need to help them.

What Are We Up To In Room 115?

Math

This week we will be finishing up our short unit on area and perimeter. Students will receive their study guides on Friday and the test will be on Tuesday the 26th.

Reading/Writing

We will also begin our book clubs! Each group has chosen their books so we will begin to plan what good conversations will look like and how they will prepare to talk about their books. Students will learn the value of shared reading and discussion with a small group about a book they are all reading.

Students will be finishing their persuasive writing and publishing that this week as well.

Word Work--NEW DESIGN

We will begin our next round of words on a 2 week rotation again. This time students will be given words that begin with the prefixes dis-, en-, and inter-. The assessment for these words will be on Friday, January 30.
