The Seventh Amendment

In suit at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars the right of trail by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any court of the united states, then according to the rules of the common law.

Historical Description of the Seventh Amendment and why its in the Constitution.

It started because Britain didn't give colonists ''the right to jury trial".They protested angrily, after the colonies won independence from Britian. They repeatedly listed the right to jury trial among the basic rights. The states only ratified the constitution after the bill of rights would be added to the constitution.

The Amendment in my own word.

Easy and simple I say the"right to a fair jury trial''

Supreme court cases.

The name was Mcelrath v United states,it was in 1880.

The reason for going to court

He sued the government for back pack pay and the case was heard by a judge in the court of claims.

Why the court made their descision and what it or not rationale from them to do that.

They rejected his argument, using the concept of sovereign immunity to justify desicsion.

I think it was not rationale for the to do that because he deserves his back pay.
