I wish everyone a Happy New Year!
May 2017 bring you and your family good health and happiness!
Brrrrr! So we did not get storm the news predicted
but it sure felt like winter this past weekend! Brrrr!
Back to the routine
The break was refreshing and a good change of pace, but now it's time to get back to the routine. Encourage your child to get enough rest each night! It starts with bedtime. We'd like to approach each day with enthusiasm for learning and growing. Being well rested helps prepare for what each day brings.
What we will be learning about this week
Fact v. Opinion
It 'snowed' in Atlanta. Well, actually it did not look like this. In fact, there was not much snow. How much depended on where you were located. The News made the storm sound downright scary, but it did turn out to be very cold.
Franklin D. Roosevelt
Our biography study of historical figures continues with this remarkable man. President Roosevelt served an unprecedented four terms! We'll investigate his character traits and how he lead our nation during the Great Depression.
Fossils
We'll continue our rocks, soil unit with a turn to studying the phenomenon of fossils.
Monday Jan 16 Martin Luther King Day!
New year and fresh outlook
The wonderful thing about bringing in the new year is that it feels like a 'reset'. We can identify and continue the things we are doing well, but also 'reset' some things we wish to be better or different. I look forward to continue the 3rd grade journey with your children. We have a fantastic bunch of kids and I am thankful to go to work each day and spend time learning and working with them. Here's to an exciting and joy-filled new year and learning experience.
