GPPSS Open House
Sunday, October 20 is the annual GPPSS Open House. It is the day that schools will be open for all (current, former and future) to come visit. We are encouraging Trombly families (K - 3) to go visit Defer where many of the Trombly staff will be there to welcome you. It is a great opportunity for our 4th and 5th grade families to go visit Pierce Middle School. Schools will be open from 1 - 3:00 PM.
Volunteers Needed
The Grosse Pointe Public School System is looking for volunteers to help with the dissemination of facts for the two upcoming proposals on the November 5th ballot. The first proposal requests a renewal and extension of a homestead millage to be levied on primary residences and a non-homestead millage to be levied on rental properties and businesses. Both millages in this proposal were originally approved by voters in 1995. The second proposal seeks to restore and extend a one mill sinking fund for five years. The sinking fund expired with the 2019 levy. It was originally approved by voters in 2004.
If you are interested in helping, please send an email to Mr Fitz at fitzpaw@gpschools.org.
Thank you for considering helping.
Safe Routes to School
Defer, Pierce and Trombly are teaming up to apply for grants from the Safe Routes to School organization. On Monday, November 18, there will be a walking audit taking place for the purpose of collecting data about the routes to Defer and Pierce. We will be part of the Pierce team. We are looking for both parents and students from Trombly to be part of the audit. If you and your child(ren) are willing to help or have questions, please reach out to Mr Fitz know by email at fitzpaw@gpschools.org.
