Rolling Hills Elementary
Weekly Newsletter - June 17, 2020
Hello RHE families,
Wow! It has certainly been an interesting and strange school year. One we have never had to experience before and one we all hope we never have to go through again. With that being written, there is always hope and promise on the horizon. Whatever that hope and promise looks like, we will face it together as community! We glimpsed that hope and promise yesterday at the sixth grade clap out. It was amazing to see the caring, compassion, and love present as we congratulated our sixth graders.
I would like to thank all of our teachers, students, parents, and RHHSA for all of their hard work and persistence! What we accomplish for our kids is done through a strong relationship built between home and school.
On behalf of the RHE staff, I would like to thank you for your continued support and dedication to our students. The RHE community is a wonderful group of people dedicated to children!
Congratulations to all of our sixth graders! We are very proud of this group of young men and women and wish them a smooth transition to the middle school. We look forward to hearing about your accomplishments!
I try to limit my emails over the summer, but I am predicting their will be a lot of information headed your way over the next couple of weeks. Please be sure to check your email consistently for information from Dr. Fraser and myself about the upcoming school year.
Have a safe and wonderful summer!
Sam
Staffing Updates
RHE Renovation - Update
During the "Stay-at-Home" order, the construction of Rolling Hills Elementary was stopped for several weeks. During that time Governor Wolf determined School Boards could vote to continue school construction projects. On April 2nd, at the School Board meeting, the Board voted to continue construction on Rolling Hills. However, due to the delay in construction, the renovations will not be complete by the end of the summer. We will begin the year at our current location of the former Richboro Middle School. Timelines are being created now with a tentative move back to RHE late in the fall. Stay tuned...
Please check the link below for renovation picture updates.

Summer Math and ELA Resources
Children need a break in the summer, but it's a great idea to provide opportunities for them to maintain their skills during these months. Below you'll to find a list of resources available to students to help them stay sharp in Reading and Math. These are activities that the children may find to be very entertaining. I highly suggest that parents take time to view these and share them with their children.

RHE Businesses
Hello RHE families! We hope this finds you well and hanging in there during this challenging time. The Home and School Association is appreciative of all that RHE families have done to support us over the years. We know that the current environment has been difficult for all of us, some more than others. Many of our families own local businesses, and we wanted to reach out to see if we could help out in some small way by advertising on our FB page and Newsletter. If you would like us to feature you business, please send a graphic and blurb with the information you would like us to use.
You can send you information to Jen Keaveney ( spozio@comcast.net) or Catherine Griffin ( cathgriffin11@gmail.com)
