SHMS Weekly Info
February 17th to 21st
Good Evening Stone Hill Students, Parents, and Staff,
Congratulations to Ava Loh for being honored for her exemplary volunteer service with a President's Volunteer Service Award. The award, which recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their communities and their country, was granted by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program. Way to go Ava!
Loudoun County Public Schools will release the LCPS Annual Parent and Family Survey on Tuesday, February 18th. The online survey will be delivered to parents in a link. The link will be distributed midday via text message and email. Parents will receive one message for each grade level - elementary, middle, or high - in which they have a student enrolled. The survey asks for feedback about the learning environment in your child's school to help staff in future planning. All survey responses are anonymous. The survey will be open through Friday, March 6th. Thank you in advance for your feedback and support of SHMS!
To commemorate Black History Month at Stone Hill Middle School, we will be showcasing influential African Americans daily during Advisory along with other activities. PTO is also sponsoring an essay contest that will feature 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners from each grade level. See the flyer below for information regarding the essay contest.
The February PBIS word of the month is Empathy. We will be recognizing students during the month of February who are demonstrating empathy as our Students of the Month!
