Malala Yousafzai was born July 12, 1997 in Mingora, Pakistan.
When Malala was 11 years old, she had gotten into a school for girls. But soon afterwards, it was attacked by a Taliban swat team. Malala had then given a speech in 2008 called "How dare the Taliban take away my basic right to education."

Then, on Oct. 9, 2012, when Malala was 15, she was shot in the head by a Taliban on her way home from school. Two friends were injered as well. The bullet that shot her went into her head, down her neck, and into her sholder. But she survived the attack and recovered vary well. She is know known for talking about the right for girls education. She was nominated The Nobel Peace Prize in 2013. The, a year later, she was nominated once more for it and won.

On her 16th birthday, she gave a speech at the United Nation. And know, on every 12th of July, it is known as Malala Day. Also, on the same day, her autobiography came out called, "I am Malala: the girl who stood up for education and was shot by the Taliban."
