Andrew Jackson

Why is Andrew Jackson a hero?

Andrew Jackson is a hero for many different reasons. He pushed the Native Americans out west so that the United States can gain more land. He also believed that the National Bank favored the wealthy citizens. He knew what it was like not to be the richest man in the world, so he shut down the National. The bank had four more years on its contract so Jackson secretly started to take money for it making it start to fail. He also knew that many of his followers were not the richest, and many didn't have jobs, so he fired everyone in the government and got his followers jobs in it.

Did all people believe that Jackson was a hero?

Not everyone thought that Jackson was a hero. In fact many people believed he was abusing his power. In this picture it shows Jackson as a king, stepping on the U.S. constitution. This picture reminded people of King George the Third.
