Providing a glimpse of remote, E-day learning
Rather than write a tome on this, I asked three of our veteran teachers to sit down for a interview to share some thoughts about what learning at home on remote days and E-days might look like and some tips for parents.
I am grateful that our team has all of next week to work on our hybrid model in the lead up to welcoming students back in person.
I'm proud of our talented educators as they prepare to do it all - teach in person, prepare lessons to extend the classroom on remote days home, and teach online on E-days.
I also ask to you to take to heart a message you will hear from all three -- in these chaotic times -- be flexible, provide grace to each other, and communicate, communicate, communicate!

Immunization Clinic Thursday, Aug. 27 New immunization requirement for 12th graders!
Kuna High School is hosting an immunization clinic open to any student who needs immunizations for school.
The Idaho Legislature approved a new requirement that impacts our 12th graders this year. Here's the requirement:
Effective at the start of the 2020-2021 school year, and each year thereafter, in addition to the required immunizations listed above, students must meet the following minimum immunization requirements prior to admission into the twelfth (12th) grade:
- Students who received their first dose of Meningococcal (MenACWY) vaccine before the age of sixteen (16) must have two (2) doses of Meningococcal (MenACWY) vaccine.
- Students who received their first dose of Meningococcal (MenACWY) vaccine at sixteen (16) years of age and older, or those who have never received a dose, must have one (1) dose of Meningococcal (MenACWY) vaccine.
Parents of incoming 7th graders may not know there are requirements for the them as well. These have been in effect since the 2011-12 school year. Here's the requirement:
Students must meet the following minimum immunization requirements prior to admission into the seventh (7th) grade for these vaccines: one (1) dose of Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis Booster (Tdap), and one (1) dose of Meningococcal.
