Some quick facts about the flying fish are flying fish are warm water speceis. Flying fish have wing like fins also known as pectoral fins but both of those are actually called elastic membranes and when spread open are wings.

There are 65 species of flying fish,2of those species are the exocoetus volitans the most common species and the cypselurus californicus that lives off the coast of California. Since the flying fish are omnivores they will eat some meat, but the main food flying fish like to eat is plankton.
