Bike Permits
We will begin our Bike Permit Distribution on November 30th after school at 2:45pm in front of the teacups. Students should bring their completed and signed contract with them. Students received their contracts on Friday before break. If they completed a course and didn't receive one, please come to the AP office for a contract.
The Carlsbad Police Department will host the final classes of the year in English and Spanish on Saturday, Dec. 9. Space is limited, and the classes are filling up fast. Register now to reserve your seat. For more tips and upcoming safety training dates, visit carlsbadca.gov/saferstreets.
We will host one final online course option after school on December 7th. Please note that new instructions will be provided after the start of the year for students who begin riding after the start of the year!
The school counselors will be meeting students with 2 or more D/F's from the last progress report to create a plan on how to improve their grades before the Report Card at the end of December. We have about 17 school days left before teachers submit the final 1st semester report card grades! First Semester Report Card Window Closes on: 12/15 Parents can view progress reports and report cards in their ParentVue app.
Yearbook
Don’t miss out on your opportunity to purchase the award-winning SEMS Yearbook for the 2023-2024 school year! The theme for the year has been announced: A New Dawn
Take a look at the cover design for this year’s book, featuring a while matte finish with embossed yellow and black detail:
The Aquila staff works hard all year to capture the memories from student activities to athletics to clubs. Every picture has a caption and our students’ stories are written to create lasting memories!
Please click on the link below to order your yearbook directly from the Jostens’ website:
You will be asked to enter your student’s FULL, REGISTERED name (please no nicknames or shortened names as it can cause confusion in our system), grade and homeroom teacher (first period teacher, if known). Again, it is important that you type in their school registered name, as it will sync with our rosters.
Questions regarding the yearbook publication may be directed to the yearbook adviser, Mrs. Sarah Meder: sarah.meder@smusd.org

Check out our Athletics Website for up to date information.
SEMS Sponsorship Banner Program
The Banner Program is officially up and going again this year. Thank you to all past and current sponsors, as your donations really help our student athletes in more ways than we can tell you. This year we have two locations, again. The corner of San Elijo Road and Schoolhouse Way is the place that our community gets to see your donations at work. The drop-off circle is the second, and where our parents get to see your business names up close and personal, on a daily basis.
Donations are $500 and are handled through the SEMS PTO website.

Upon completion of the purchase, please contact our Athletic Coordinator at geoffrey.gilpin@smusd.org, so that we can get your design in to the printer.
