August 2018

Greetings from the pool deck,

We did it! Another great season in the books. Congratulations to all of our championship swimmers. Our MARSian crew was very impressive this summer. Dozens and dozens of uber fast performances. Our hard work paid off. What a great platform to begin the fall short course season.

Speaking of the fall season…we’ll resume our normal practice schedule on Tuesday, August 21st. Our fall schedule will remain the same. We’re looking at adding a section or two as we get through try-outs at the end of the month.

With the start of the fall season we have registration renewals for 2019 to get started with. September 1st is the start of the 2019 registration year. All renewing swimmers will need to be registered again by November 1st. Stay tuned for more information on how to renew your membership.

We have revised our Team Manual for 2019. Included are clarifications of team policies, group descriptions, and more. The new manual will be published before we return on the 21st. We will also be announcing our new tuition prices in the coming days.

A big push this fall will be for greater participation is swim meets by our athletes. Our kids work very, very hard to become great athletes. It’s important for their continued development to compete at the appropriate time and meets. Coaches will be talking to both the swimmers and parents about this in their meetings and weekly emails.

Our first events for the fall will be on September 15th. We’re hosting a Make-a-Splash Day at UTA with our friends at Sigma Gamma Rho, as well as an Intra-Squad meet at Grapevine. Stay tuned for more info on both of these events. Then, in November and December, we’re hosting divisional meets at Grapevine. We’re going to be looking for everyone’s help for all of these events.

I’d like to take a moment to give a special thanks to all of our parent volunteers who do so much for the team. We can’t do this without you. Our Super Parents and Elite Parents are truly special people. These folks are all amazing with their commitment to their child’s sport. Thank you!!

See you on deck!

Everyone is good at something which means everyone has something to offer. Please be on the lookout for upcoming dates for training classes for each of our volunteer positions. ***Each person will receive volunteer points for attending the training class. ***Please Note: You will receive the points once you put that training into action at our hosted meets.
