Principal's Letter
Dear Lake Windward Families,
It's hard to believe the start of Fall begins this week! I am looking forward to all that this season brings...football games, pumpkin spice, cooler temperatures & cozy sweaters!
Over the last couple of weeks we have welcomed a couple of new team members to LWE. First, I'd like to introduce Ms. Jaime Potts, our new Bookkeeper/Principal's Secretary. She has worked for Fulton County Schools in several different capacities over the last 18 years, but is new to this particular role. She has already jumped in and begun the complex work of helping me run our school and keep our finances in perfect order!
In addition, we have welcomed a new clinic assistant, Ms. Armida Lopez. Ms. Lopez is originally from Texas but moved to the area several years ago. Before having her own children, she earned her medical assistant diploma in 2009. We are so happy to have Ms. Lopez attending to our students' needs in the clinic each day. They have already been keeping her very busy! :)
Have a great week!
Warm regards,
Julie Morris
LWE Fall Book Fair September 20-23
We are excited to kick off our fall book fair!
Shopping Days: Tuesday, September 20th through Friday, September 23rd
Preview Days: Friday, September 16th and Monday, September 19th (as a class)
For our fall book fair, we will pilot having an all e-Wallet Bookfair.
This means parents will set up an online account ahead of time for students to shop
instead of students bringing in cash or checks that can easily get lost.
Learn more about e-Wallet and follow this link to set up an e-wallet for your child.
There will be books, posters, activity kits, school supplies and more to choose from.
Parents are welcome to come and shop with their children during assigned shopping times.
Class shopping times will be posted after September 9th.
Thank you for supporting LWE’s fall book fair.
The money earned will help purchase new resources for all LWE students!
If you would like to volunteer to help at the bookfair, click on the Book Fair Volunteer Link.
Please be sure you have completed the FC Volunteer Registration Process prior to volunteering.
Clinic Donations Needed
There are times when students need a change of clothes during the school day and are sent to the clinic for fresh clothing. We are in need of sizes 4T-8/10 of both boys and girls clothes; preferably stretchy material shorts and pants. If you have items you can donate (new or gently used), please drop them off at the front office or send them in a bag with your child labeled "Clinic Donation". If your child borrows clothing during the school day from our clinic, we ask that once you have washed the clothing you send the borrowed clothing back to our clinic. Thank you for your help!
Thank you, PTO!
In addition, PTO provided popsicles for all students on Friday as we celebrated our successful PTO Membership Drive with PJs, Popsicles & Play! Our students loved it!
