Restrictions
The Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 is a United States federal law that increased disclosure of contributions for federal campaigns and amended in 1974 to place legal limits on the campaign contributions.
Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act sought to end the influence in federal elections of so-called soft money, which is money raised outside the limits and prohibitions of federal campaign finance law. This law banned soft-money contributions to political parties and placed limits on the ability of corporations to broadcast messages that included a federal candidate's name or image.
