Rules to Follow:

  1. Thou shalt not use a computer to harm other people.
  2. Thou shalt not interfere with other people's computer work.
  3. Thou shalt not snoop around in other people's computer files.
  4. Thou shalt not use a computer to steal.
  5. Thou shalt not use a computer to bear false witness.
  6. Thou shalt not copy or use proprietary software for which you have not paid.
  7. Thou shalt not use other people's computer resources without authorization or proper compensation.
  8. Thou shalt not appropriate other people's intellectual output.
  9. Thou shalt think about the social consequences of the program you are writing or the system you are designing.
  10. Thou shalt always use a computer in ways that ensure consideration and respect for your fellow humans.

Computer Commandment #1

Thou shalt not use a computer to harm other people. This rule applies to anyone that has come into contact with virtual/online/Internet bullying. It states that no one is allowed to harshly criticize, bully, or hurt another user of the Internet.

Computer Commandment #5

Thou shalt not use a computer to bear false witness. This rule states that no one is allowed to make statements with false pieces of information. It ensures that when one is references another article or source, they are not allowed to use false sources to make any claims .

Computer Commandment #6

Thou shalt not copy or use proprietary software for which you have not paid. This rule is made out to prevent any possibilities of copyrighting information. This means a user is not allowed to download, copy, or steal any type of software or program without proper payment.

Computer Commandment #10

Thou shalt always use a computer in ways that ensure consideration and respect for your fellow humans. This last commandment is one that ensures compassion and respect for other fellow users of the Internet. It tells if one were to use the computer that one should be respectful of other's work, opinions, and what they post.
